Web Search Done Right

Google is great at being fast and getting you results you want, but it's pretty much a feature-less text box. You type in a couple words, press Return and you get pages of results.

What if you could get live estimated results "while" you type in your words to better estimate what results you'll get "before" you press Return? That's just one of the nifty features offered by Inquisitor - Instant Search by David Watanabe.

When you first go to the search page, you get a simple, clean search box with no ads or clutter of any kind. When you type, you are shown your results on the right almost instantly. You can also choose to have Inquisitor use Google, Flickr, Amazon, A9, Technorati, Digg, or Yahoo! I'm assuming as it moves out of beta you'll be able to add more that list.

Check this out and you might find yourself with a new home page very soon.

Yo...not so fast!! You haven't seen 'suggest'? Google's version of that AJAX implementation?

Yeah, I'd seen that, but it's not really public on their main site - I think it should be though. At least as an option. And I like Inquisitor's ability to search different sources too. Thanks for reminding me off that though.
